Early Steps Soccer Development League
About The Early Steps Soccer Development League
The Early Steps Soccer Development League provides a transition for young players from the Soccer tots child development program into the more competitive program. By gently introducing young players to competition, whistles, winning & losing, soccer “rules” and teams, they will be much better suited for advanced skills development and tactical play as they progress.
The summer 2014 season we are planning to train about 6 to 7 weeks long. Starting on June 26th and ending on August 7th on the sessions will be 30 to 45 minutes. Rain dates will beCommunicated as needed.
The cost for the Early Steps Soccer Development League will be $60 for this summer season. Players to join to Early Steps Soccer Development League team, the player should be enrolled in one Early Steps Bilingual Preschool programs. Equipment each player is required to bring:
- Their own size 3 soccer ball
- Shin guards
- Appropriate footwear
- Sunblock (recommended)
- Water will be provided by the school.
As these games and practice is outdoors, please dress for the weather. Practices are heldon a grass field. The School recommends that each player takes their clothes, ball, footwear and shin guards and leaves it at school on Mondays so that they do not forget.
Teams
Each group will be formed depending on the child’s age and his/her class at Early Steps Bilingual Preschool of varying abilities. A sincere effort will be made to balance theTeams so that everyone is in a positive learning environment and receives plenty ofAttention from the coaching staff.
Coaches
The primary responsibility is to promote team bonding, encourage sportsmanship, instill the soccer philosophy, teach basic soccer skills and provide a fun, structured environment forthe players.
Parental Involvement
We understand that many parents want to get involved. We welcome any volunteers whowould like to help and be part of the team!
Laws of the Game
- A size 3 ball will be used for the sessions.
- Incidental or accidental events should be used as a teaching experience for the players.
